Digital service offer supports WJA membership growth surge

Record numbers of companies are joining the Water Jetting Association reflecting the value of being associated with the member organisation of the UK’s water jetting industry.
Fourteen businesses have been accepted as members of the WJA in the last two months alone, covering industrial services that include drainage, hydrodemolition, pressure washing, plant hire and training.
Helping members thrive and grow
WJA Chairman Lee O’Callaghan said: “We have more organisations than ever before applying to join the WJA. It’s a sign that more businesses see the sense and value of setting high water jetting standards.
“That’s good to see. Our members also see the benefit of being part of an organisation that’s proactive in backing their industry and providing services and advice that help their businesses thrive and grow.
“We’ve also made it easier to join the WJA and to access the services we provide our members, not least by digitising our systems, including launching the new WJA app. This process, which continues at pace, has certainly helped us grow our membership over the last 12 months.”
Supporting WJA Trade Show 2025
One new member, which joined in May 2025, is engineering firm Brace Turner, which has a drainage and wastewater management arm, as well as delivering civil engineering and plant hire services.
The company’s transport manager, Shelia Ketteridge, said: “We want to be in the WJA because it tells our customers we’re serious about delivering the best and safest water jetting services. We work for some very large companies and it’s what they’d expect.”
Another new member is TST Sweden, a global leader in the manufacture of water jetting PPE and site safety systems. The company is also a sponsor of WJA Trade Show 2025 at StoneX Stadium, North London, on 11th September.
TST Sweden’s International Sales Manager, Annette Hessel, said: “We share the WJA’s determination to drive up water jetting safety and its belief that safety goes hand-in-hand with productivity and service quality.”
Howden Insurance has joined the WJA as a Blue Chip members. Like TST Sweden it is also a sponsor of WJA Trade Show 2025.
Taking the WJA message internationally
As an insurance provider with expertise in industrial sectors that use water jetting – such as drainage and industrial cleaning, it could see the value of being closely associated with water jetting’s member body.
A new training member is Safe Jetting Ltd, a new business run by Steve Williams who has more than 25 years’ experience as a water jetting training provider.
He said: “I’m looking forward to promoting WJA standards internationally as I do more than half my training abroad, mainly in the Middle East, but also in Europe.”
Another new member, in the pressure washing category, is Ryno Training. The company delivers bespoke courses to the UK’s tunnelling industry.
Its director, Richard Selvestraitis, said: “We want to further develop our pressure washing training offer, and being a member of the WJA makes absolute sense to help us do that.”
Serious water jetters ‘have to be members’
Premiair Plant Hire, which supplies customers with water jetting and compressed air systems, has rejoined the WJA under its hirer category.
Director Andy Welsh said: “We’re pleased to a member once again. It helps define us as a business, and the expert advice the WJA can give can be very useful.”
Water jetting consultancy firm CH Environmental Services has joined the WJA as an associate member. The company helps project manage services delivered by both UK and continental European water jetting specialists.
Its director, Scott Wharton, said: “The WJA has a proven track record in raising the safety and productivity standards of water jetting through its codes of practice and training programme. It’s leading the way in our industry. If you’re serious about water jetting you have to be in it.”
